World Book Night at Lincs Inspire Libraries World Book Night at Lincs Inspire Libraries

To celebrate World Book Night on Monday 23rd April Lincs Inspire Libraries and Arts Development will be giving out free copies of The Woman In Black by Susan Hill; provided by The Reading Agency.

The story will appeal to those who love horror and crave a genuine fright. The Woman In Black has been made into a successful film and long-running play.
The free books are for those who don’t regularly read or can be taken to give to someone who doesn’t usually read.

Lawrence Dunn, Development Officer for Lincs Inspire Libraries, said: ““Last year several people who received books said it was such a good read they will pass it onto others for their enjoyment. We are hoping the same thing happens again this year.”

Copies of the book can be picked up from Lincs Inspire Libraries and other Lincs Inspire venues on a drop-in basis (while stocks last) during their usual opening times.

Grimsby and Waltham Libraries are closed on Mondays, so will be giving out there allocated books from Tuesday onwards.

World Book Night is run by The Reading Agency, a national charity that inspires people to become confident and enthusiastic readers.

For more information contact Lawrence Dunn on (01472) 323621 or email: lawrence.dunn@lincsinspire.com.

Reading Well Reading Well

At a time when over 26 million people in England report to have at least one long term condition, Lincs Inspire Libraries participate in a national scheme to support them with expert endorsed books available to borrow free of charge.

Reading Well for long term conditions is part of the successful Reading Well Books on Prescription programme delivered through English public libraries. It provides people living with long term conditions and their carers with high-quality book based information, support and advice on a range of conditions. Reading Well for long term conditions has a recommended reading list of 28 books that were selected by health experts and people living with long term conditions.

The list includes health information, memoir and self-management titles and covers conditions such as diabetes, stroke and heart disease, as well as common symptoms such as fatigue, pain, wellbeing and sleep problems.
