Recorded memories:

We visited many different venues and spoke to lots of different people for our Streets and their Stories project.  Some of the memories that people shared with us have been recorded and they are helping us to learn much more about our local history.  Memories of growing up on the West Marsh, the East Marsh, in a particular house, recollections of school days or of childhood living in a particular street, all of which help to add the colour of memory to our black and white photographs.

Over the course of the Streets and their Stories project, we have been contacted by many people who have connections with our local area and who wanted to share their memories with us.  Not all of them still live locally, but they have shared their recollections of the time they lived here and a selection of these written memories are published here on our website for you to enjoy.
