The books provide helpful information and step-by–step self-help techniques for managing common mental health conditions, including depression and anxiety.
Reading Well Books on Prescription for dementia recommends books you might find helpful if you have dementia, are caring for someone with dementia, or want to find out more about the condition. The books include information and advice, help after diagnosis, practical support for carers and personal stories.
The books are available from any North East Lincolnshire Library for anyone to borrow.

Pictures to Share is a collection of books featuring pictures that are more likely to be understood and enjoyed by people with dementia. They are simple, clear and often colourful, with no confusing backgrounds or content. They are chosen because they provide an opportunity for telling stories or for linking in to themes that the person with dementia will recognize.

Discovering Memories is a selection of books and materials at Grimsby Library to support people with dementia, their families and carers, including books of photographs and illustrations on local history, or different decades and themes.
The reminiscence collection is a local collection consisting of 6 booklets that contain local photographs and information.

At a time when over 26 million people in England report to have at least one long term condition, Lincs Inspire Libraries participate in a national scheme to support them with expert endorsed books available to borrow free of charge.
Reading Well for long term conditions is part of the successful Reading Well Books on Prescription programme delivered through English public libraries. It provides people living with long term conditions and their carers with high-quality book based information, support and advice on a range of conditions. Reading Well for long term conditions has a recommended reading list of 28 books that were selected by health experts and people living with long term conditions.
The list includes health information, memoir and self-management titles and covers conditions such as diabetes, stroke and heart disease, as well as common symptoms such as fatigue, pain, wellbeing and sleep problems.
